Sylvia Maseko is a visionary African entrepreneur, healthcare professional, and innovative event designer dedicated to celebrating healthcare excellence and creating impactful platforms for industry professionals.

As the Founder of Health Excellence Organization, she leads an NPO that recognizes and honors outstanding healthcare professionals in South Africa through the prestigious Health Excellence Awards.

Sylvia’s entrepreneurial journey spans multiple industries. She is the Managing Director at Daisy Lee Events, Chief Operations Officer at Medical Events, and a Registered Dietitian by profession.

Her expertise in healthcare, event management, and business leadership allows her to bridge the gap between healthcare and corporate excellence.

Born and raised in Boschfontein, a rural area in Mpumalanga, South Africa, Sylvia’s passion for healthcare led her to start her career as a Registered Dietitian in the government sector, where she gained hands-on experience in patient care and nutritional management.

She later joined an NGO focused on HIV/AIDS management through nutrition, broadening her expertise in public health. Her career trajectory took her into the corporate world, where she managed operations across Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Gauteng, and Eswatini, further solidifying her leadership skills.

Sylvia’s business acumen was evident from an early age—she started reading business books as a child, knowing she was destined to run her own company.

At just 23 years old, she launched her first business, a slimming clinic, leveraging her background in dietetics to help clients achieve their health goals.

Her passion for healthcare and business led her to establish Daisy Lee Events, an umbrella company that houses the Health Excellence Organization, Medical Events, and Medi-Dieticians. Through these ventures, she employs up to 50 young people, both permanent and temporary, fostering job creation and economic empowerment.
