When you hear “content creator,” “strategist,” and “influencer,” one name that stands out is Olotta Tessy, the fierce, funny, and unstoppable voice lighting up the digital space.
But Tessy’s journey wasn’t a fairytale from the start. In 2018, she was just another NYSC graduate in Lagos, staring down the end of her monthly allawee, confused about what the future held.
With no clear roadmap and only her quick wit, sharp mouth, and comic personality as tools, she made a bold decision: to bet on herself.

Tessy was armed with nothing but raw talent and pure determination, so she entered the noisy world of social media, and started carving out a name for herself.
From late nights battling creative blocks to pushing through rejection after rejection, Tessy’s story is not just about content creation, it’s about resilience, grit, and turning natural gifts into real influence.
In this fun and inspiring interview, she pulls back the curtain on her real story, the wins, the struggles, and the magic that built the brand we all admire today.
CA: Tessy, you wear many hats, content creator, strategist, and influencer. Can you take us back to where it all began? What inspired you to step into the digital space and start building your personal brand?
Tessy: It all started in 2018, towards the end of my NYSC in Lagos. I was confused about what to do next, knowing that my monthly allawee was about to stop.
Then I thought, “God gave me a sharp mouth and a comic personality… why not use it online?” I figured if I could talk and entertain, I could influence for brands and get paid doing what I love.
At the time, I was working as a customer care agent in one of the top betting companies in Lagos. They wanted to retain me full-time because of my performance… but deep down, I knew that wasn’t the path for me.
CA: Wow, what a bold move! Creating impactful content across business, lifestyle, and fitness isn’t easy. What was your journey like, and were there any key moments or people who played a major role in shaping it?
Tessy: Honestly, creating content is not as easy as it looks, it takes a lot of mental work. For me, the journey was built on rejection.
When I started out, I faced a lot of “No’s,” and that fueled my drive to work harder and make my name a household one on social media. The people who doubted me unknowingly shaped my fire.

CA: Inspiring! Balancing multiple niches and staying relevant online can be demanding. What challenges have you faced, and how did you push through them?
Tessy: Smiles… To be sincere, being a versatile content creator is mentally exhausting. My brain is constantly running, thinking per second. One of the biggest challenges is creative block.
Sometimes, even with deadlines and paid gigs, your mind just freezes. You want to deliver, but nothing comes. I’ve learned to push through by creating systems that support me and giving myself grace when I need it.
CA: Amazing resilience! Consistency is key in what you do. What kept you motivated, especially in the early days when things felt uncertain or overwhelming?
Tessy: Content creation is still overwhelming, even today. But for me, consistency is non-negotiable. Come rain, come shine, the goal is to show up. That’s what separates the good from the great. I just remind myself why I started and who I’m doing this for.
CA: How has your background and experience shaped the way you approach content and collaboration today?
Tessy: It was truly tough growing up. I was bullied in secondary school because of my height. They called me names like “Short Engine.” It affected me deeply. But it also made me tough.
I learned to defend myself with words, and that’s where the Razor Blade Mouth was born. Today, I channel that boldness into my content and use it to tell real stories, unfiltered.
CA: Wow! Such a powerful story! You’ve built a strong presence that inspires others. How does it feel knowing your journey motivates young creators and entrepreneurs?
Tessy: Honestly, it’s humbling and exciting. Knowing that my voice, my style, and my hustle inspire others to show up as their full selves means everything to me. It reminds me that what I’m doing matters.
CA: You’re not just building content, you’re building impact. What inspired you to start sharing your knowledge and helping brands grow?
Tessy: Smiles… I’m passionate about business owners because I see their struggles every day. I want to help them grow and thrive. If my knowledge and voice can bring them closer to their goals, then I’m doing what I was called to do.
CA: Amazing heart! What’s next for you? Any exciting projects or milestones we should look out for?
Tessy: Yes.. there’s so much ahead, but I’d rather let the work speak when it’s time. Let’s just say… big things are cooking.
CA: Wow, can’t wait! As someone deeply involved in content direction and strategy, what’s one myth about being a content creator or influencer that you’d like to correct?
Tessy: The biggest myth is that it’s easy. People say things like, “Is it not just to shoot video?” No, it’s not just that. Content creation involves research, scripting, planning, filming, editing, posting, and managing feedback. It’s a full-time, multi-skill job.

CA: Facts! Lastly, for anyone dreaming of showing up online and making their mark across different niches, what advice would you give them?
Tessy: Honestly, do you, the world will adjust. Forget aesthetics. Come as you are. Don’t wait to be perfect. Start with what you have, where you are. Your authenticity will take you farther than a perfectly curated feed ever could.
