Hameedat’s story is one of perseverance and passion. She started her professional journey in banking, working for Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions.
While in the banking sector, Hameedat discovered her true calling: entrepreneurship. “The realization of my passion for entrepreneurship inspired me.
While working as a banker, I found joy in building something of my own,” she explains. This moment of clarity led her to take a leap of faith and step away from her banking career to pursue a business venture.
With just ₦17,000 in capital, Hameedat began selling perfumes to colleagues. What started as a small side hustle quickly grew, transforming her residential apartment into a small perfume business.
In just six years, that humble start blossomed into a thriving business with multiple branches, warehouses across Lagos, and a diverse range of products that now includes packaging solutions and craft supplies.
Today, BIS Group is a recognized brand providing premium fragrances, innovative packaging, reliable logistics, and creative craft supplies for both retail and wholesale markets.
Hameedat’s business not only offers high-quality products but also focuses on empowering aspiring entrepreneurs through mentorship and training programs, which have helped over 100 individuals in the perfume and craft industries.
“My greatest accomplishment is creating a multi-faceted business that not only delivers value but also empowers others,” Hameedat says with pride.
Despite her remarkable achievements, Hameedat’s journey has not been without challenges. Like many entrepreneurs, she faced the difficulties of starting a business with limited capital, sourcing quality products, and managing competition.
Yet, she views these challenges as stepping stones that fueled her determination. “Success in entrepreneurship is about taking calculated risks, constantly learning, and being ready to evolve with market demands,” she advises aspiring professionals.
