The Benin–Asaba Expressway Concession Company (BAECC) has reassured the public that construction on the Benin–Agbor section of the expressway is moving forward steadily despite challenges caused by seasonal rains.
In a statement addressing public concerns about the pace of the project, the company acknowledged the inconveniences faced by motorists, traders, and residents along the route, expressing empathy for all affected road users. Daily Post reported.
According to BAECC, the 125-kilometre project is being executed in phases, and significant progress has already been made.

The company explained that its construction teams are working diligently to maintain momentum while ensuring safety across all active sections of the site.
“We appeal for patience and cooperation from road users and those operating businesses along the corridor as we work towards completing a safer, faster, and more reliable expressway,” the statement said.
BAECC noted that once completed, the Benin–Asaba Expressway will strengthen transport connections, ease movement between communities, and boost economic growth across Edo and Delta States.
