I’m Not an Advocate for Divorce Even Though I’m Divorced, Marriage Is Not for Everybody” — Tolu Odukoya

Toluwani Odukoya, Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church and daughter of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, spoke publicly about the end of her marriage in a recent interview with Truthtable that was shared on her YouTube channel.

She confirmed that she has been separated from her husband for about ten years and described the experience of her marriage’s breakdown as “a death,” noting that she did not enter the union intending to leave it and that the circumstances that led to the separation were beyond her control.

Odukoya, who has three children from the marriage, emphasised that separation did not reflect moral failure on either side, describing her ex-husband as a “great man” but asserting that if a relationship is not ordained by God and partners try to force it, the likelihood of sustaining it is low.

She said she is not an advocate for divorce despite her own experience, and stressed that while marriage is good and beautiful, it is not necessarily for everybody.

She credited her family’s support, especially her late father and siblings, for helping her navigate the emotional toll of her separation alongside other personal losses, and said her faith ultimately shaped her path back into ministry amid those challenges.
