With a background in English Literature and a Doctorate in Leadership Management, she has carved out a unique path, balancing her leadership in tech with a deep commitment to empowerment and social change.

In this interview, Dr. Cole shares her journey, challenges, and vision for the future.

CA: Dr. Cole, your story is truly inspiring. Can you tell us about your journey into the tech world, considering your academic background in English Literature?

Dr. Cole: It’s a bit of an unconventional story, but I believe that everything happens for a reason.

I started out studying English Literature, which, at first glance, seems worlds apart from tech. However, I’ve always had a passion for learning and problem-solving, which eventually led me to tech.

I recognized the potential of technology to drive positive change, particularly in Africa, and that was the spark that led me to establish Tritek Consulting Limited.

My academic background actually helped me develop critical thinking and communication skills, which are key in tech and leadership roles.

CA: You’ve been recognized multiple times for your work in the tech industry and youth empowerment. What does being named “Woman of the Year” and earning accolades like “Mentor of the Year” mean to you?

Dr. Cole: Recognition is always humbling, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to make an impact.

Being named “Woman of the Year” and receiving other awards is not only a personal honor but also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of my team at Tritek Consulting.

These awards validate the work we’re doing to empower the next generation of tech professionals.

But ultimately, it’s not about the accolades—it’s about seeing how the skills we teach transform people’s lives and careers. That’s the real reward.

CA: You’ve faced many challenges in your career, including transitions between industries and social media scrutiny. How did you overcome these obstacles, and what kept you motivated?

Dr. Cole: The journey hasn’t been without its hurdles, but I’ve learned to embrace every challenge as an opportunity for growth.

Moving across different industries taught me adaptability, and social media scrutiny, while difficult at times, has helped me become more resilient.

My passion for community empowerment, particularly in Nigeria and other African countries, has always driven me forward.

I’ve always believed that if you focus on your mission, the noise around you becomes less relevant. Perseverance and maintaining my integrity have kept me grounded and focused.

CA: You’ve spoken about empowering young people in Africa through Tritek Consulting. What steps are you taking to ensure your training programs are inclusive and accessible to aspiring tech professionals?

Dr. Cole: Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at Tritek. Our goal is to make tech education accessible to people from all backgrounds.

We’re constantly expanding our course offerings to meet the needs of our students and ensure that we’re addressing the gaps in the tech industry.

This includes partnering with industry leaders to provide real-world insights and creating a supportive learning environment.

One of our key initiatives is the Free Career Masterclass in Project Management and Business Analysis, which we’re hosting in February 2024.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to giving individuals the tools they need to succeed in the tech world.

CA: What advice would you give to young professionals aspiring to succeed in the tech industry?

Dr. Cole: My advice is simple: Find something that works for you. Identify your unique strengths and stick to them.

There will always be challenges, but it’s important to remain focused on your goals.

Maintain integrity, prioritize personal growth, stay positive, and persevere, no matter the obstacles.

The tech industry can be overwhelming at times, but consistency and dedication will take you far.

CA: Your personal motto, “Make a way and not an excuse,” has clearly guided your journey. How do you apply this philosophy to your work and life?

Dr. Cole: This motto is a reminder to myself every day to stay proactive and solution-oriented.

There will always be setbacks and reasons to quit, but I’ve learned that making excuses only holds you back.

I’ve applied this philosophy to every part of my work, whether it’s building Tritek Consulting or organizing events like the Career Masterclass.

Instead of focusing on challenges, I ask myself, “How can we make this work?” It’s all about finding a way forward, no matter the circumstances.

CA: In the future, what do you envision for the future of Tritek Consulting and tech education in Africa?

Dr. Cole: The future is incredibly bright. We’re just getting started at Tritek, and we have big plans for expansion.

I want to see our students not only succeed in their careers but also become leaders who drive change in their communities.

My goal is to continue to bridge the gap between education and industry needs, creating more opportunities for young Africans to thrive in the global tech space.

Dr. Adeshola Cole’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, vision, and empowerment.

As a leader in tech education, she continues to pave the way for future generations, showing that with the right mindset, anyone can make a way, not an excuse.
