Don’t Bombard My Govt Alone – Tinubu To Media

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged the Nigerian media to extend the same level of scrutiny applied to the Federal Government to state and local governments, stressing that national development is a collective responsibility across all tiers of governance.

Tinubu made the remark while hosting media proprietors and executives at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he emphasized that the burden of governance should not be placed solely on the federal administration.

According to the President, the media must also critically examine the activities of state governments and local councils in order to strengthen accountability within Nigeria’s federal system.

With increased allocations and direct funding mechanisms now in place, Tinubu argued that these levels of government should equally face public and media scrutiny for how they manage public resources and deliver services.

The President maintained that improving governance in Nigeria requires balanced oversight across federal, state, and local authorities, adding that focusing criticism solely on the central government undermines the principle of federalism.
