From Sewing in Her Childhood Room to Building a Beauty Empire in the UK:The Rise of Saint Suzzy

Susan Nneoma Ngwu (known as Saint Suzy) didn’t stumble into entrepreneurship.

She stitched her way into it—thread by thread, one needle pull at a time.

Before the studio lights, before the wigs and wedding gowns, before the viral praise and UK-wide recognition, there was just a girl in Zaria, Kaduna—ten years old, wide-eyed, in awe of her mother’s Ankara outfits, sitting at a borrowed manual sewing machine after school.

This is not your typical story of fashion entrepreneurship.

It’s a narrative woven through motherhood, migration, and the magic of perseverance.

In an industry where style often overshadows structure, one woman is building a fashion empire that does both—beautifully and boldly.

Susan Nneoma Ngwu is building her family and an integrated fashion and beauty enterprise that spans couture fashion (SaintSuzzy Signature), professional wigs (SaintSuzzy Wigs), photography (SaintSuzzy Shots), and beauty products (SaintSuzzy Beauty).

By the time she moved to the UK at 22 to study nursing at Coventry University, Suzzy was already an adept seamstress.

She graduated in the top percentile of her class, earning a First-Class in Adult Nursing and later a Master’s with Merit.

But even while immersed in clinicals and coursework, the fire to create never dimmed.

Fresh into marriage and motherhood, she received what would become a pivotal opportunity.

A fellow church member mentioned they had Nigerian fabrics but no tailor.

Suzzy was there to fill the gap—and delivered ten stunning Aso Ebi outfits for a bridal party.

The rest, as they say, is history.

That one gig sparked a full transition into entrepreneurship.

From her small home studio—while raising her son—she began sewing, making wigs, offering makeup services, and growing a clientele that saw quality and kept coming back.

By 2019, with two kids in tow and a bigger home, she expanded again.

Then the pandemic hit.

Rather than pause, Suzzy pivoted.

She taught herself photography, converted her garage into a mini studio, and launched a photography business.

Eventually, all arms of her brand—fashion, wigs, makeup, and photography—merged under one roof.

What makes Saint Suzzy different isn’t just the talent—it’s the structure.

She doesn’t just “do it all.”

She builds systems that hold it all.

And perhaps, that’s the real flex.

Her nursing background bleeds into the way she runs her business—with precision, planning, and purpose.

“Business for me is like medicine,” she says.

“There has to be a process: diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

That’s how I work.”

Now a mother of three, Saint Suzzy, supported by her husband, juggles her business empire with the delicate, demanding work of present parenting.

And she’s not just surviving it—she’s starting to speak about it.

More than ever, she wants to help women—especially mothers—balance business with the beautiful chaos of raising a family.

Looking ahead, Saint Suzzy has big plans.

She envisions one-stop-shop studios across the UK—spaces where customers can get styled, shot, and made over, and where aspiring creatives can be trained and mentored.

She also sees herself taking on the stage—becoming a voice for mothers navigating business, faith, and family.

And the truth is: she’s already doing it.

Saint Suzzy’s story is more than inspiring—it’s instructive.

It’s proof that you can start small, stay true, and still scale.

That motherhood isn’t a limitation—it’s a launchpad.

That faith and strategy can coexist.

Follow Saint Suzzy’s journey and share this story with someone who needs a reminder: you don’t have to choose between your passion and your purpose.

You can wear all your hats—and wear them well.
