Some entrepreneurs build companies. Others help create the systems that allow entire industries to grow. Iyinoluwa Aboyeji belongs to a generation of African entrepreneurs whose work has focused not only on launching businesses, but also on expanding access to opportunity, talent, capital, and innovation across the continent.
Iyinoluwa Samuel Aboyeji is a Nigerian entrepreneur best known for co-founding Andela and Flutterwave, two companies that have become widely recognised within Africa’s technology ecosystem.
Today, he serves as Founding Partner of Future Africa, an investment platform that provides capital, coaching, and community to mission-driven innovators building solutions across the continent.

Aboyeji attended St. Saviour’s Primary School in Lagos before proceeding to Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja. He later studied at the University of Waterloo in Canada, where he earned a degree in Legal Studies.
In 2014, he co-founded Andela, a company established to identify, train, and connect African software engineering talent with global organisations.

The company quickly gained international attention and attracted support from investors including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and Google Ventures. Over the years, Andela has become one of Africa’s most recognised technology companies and has played a role in demonstrating the depth of engineering talent available across the continent.
Two years later, in 2016, Aboyeji co-founded Flutterwave alongside Olugbenga Agboola and other industry professionals to address challenges associated with payments infrastructure in Africa.
The company was established to enable businesses and financial institutions to process payments more efficiently across markets. Flutterwave subsequently became one of Africa’s leading fintech companies and achieved unicorn status in 2021.
Following his involvement in building Andela and Flutterwave, Aboyeji shifted his attention towards supporting founders and innovators through Future Africa.
The platform describes its mission as providing capital, coaching, and community to entrepreneurs building an African future where purpose and prosperity are within reach. Through this work, Aboyeji has continued to engage with conversations around entrepreneurship, talent development, investment, and innovation ecosystems across the continent.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Aboyeji has participated in several leadership initiatives and public-interest engagements. He previously served as Deputy Director-General for the 2019 presidential campaign of Oby Ezekwesili and has also contributed to discussions surrounding education, innovation, and talent development.
His contributions have received international and national recognition. Aboyeji was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Enterprise Technology list in 2018 and was later recognised as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. In 2022, he received the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Today, Aboyeji remains active within Africa’s investment and technology landscape through Future Africa, where he continues to support entrepreneurs developing solutions across sectors including financial services, education, healthcare, agriculture, and digital infrastructure.

Over the past decade, his career has reflected a consistent focus on expanding access to opportunity through technology, talent development, and entrepreneurship.
From helping establish a platform dedicated to software engineering talent to contributing to the growth of digital payments infrastructure and supporting emerging founders, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji’s work continues to occupy an important place within conversations about Africa’s innovation economy and its future trajectory.
