Côte d’Ivoire has secured approximately $50 million, equivalent to about 27.8 billion CFA francs, from UNESCO to support the implementation of its National Development Plan (NDP) for 2026–2030.
According to Ecofin Agency, the announcement was made on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, by UNESCO representative Mame Omar Diop during a meeting with Minister of Planning and Development Souleymane Diarrassouba.
The funding will support government projects in education, culture, science, communication, and information.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing programs and reaffirmed UNESCO’s commitment to helping the country achieve the objectives of the NDP 2026–2030.

Since 2012, Côte d’Ivoire has rolled out three national development plans covering 2012–2015, 2016–2020, and 2021–2026.
These plans are designed to transform the economy, improve living standards, and reduce poverty and inequality. The NDP 2026–2030 aims for an average growth rate of 7.2%, while the World Bank projects growth of 6.4% through 2027.
The plan is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, which seek to end poverty, protect the environment, and promote inclusive development by 2030.
