Steve Nganga has always been drawn to systems, how they work, where they fail, and how they can be redesigned to serve people better.
It’s a curiosity that has followed him across continents, industries, and roles, shaping a career that blends analytical depth with an entrepreneur’s instinct for real-world problems.
A Kenyan administrator and serial entrepreneur, Steve is best known today as the founder of Balozy, a mobile platform created to simplify how people find and book reliable local services.
At its core, Balozy reflects Steve’s belief that technology doesn’t need to be flashy to be powerful, it simply needs to work, especially when people need it most.
Launched in 2022, Balozy was built around everyday realities. From home maintenance and appliance repairs to childcare, mobility assistance, and event services, the platform connects users to verified professionals in a fast, practical, and accessible way.
By allowing users to compare service providers, review profiles, and book help without paid registration or complicated processes, Steve designed Balozy to remove friction from moments that are often stressful or time-sensitive.
Steve’s entrepreneurial journey didn’t begin with Balozy. In 2016, he co-founded EventPremier, a digital startup focused on event services, and led the company as chief executive officer until 2019.
The experience deepened his understanding of product execution, customer expectations, and the importance of building platforms that people actually return to, not because they have to, but because they trust them.
Behind Steve’s entrepreneurial work is a strong academic and professional foundation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Maine in 2004, followed by a master’s degree in Public Administration in 2007.
This blend of business, technology, and public systems would later define the way he approaches problem-solving, methodical, data-informed, and grounded in impact.
Steve began his professional career in the United States in 2008 as a financial analyst at Muckleshoot Indian Casino, where he honed his analytical skills and attention to detail.
He later joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments, spending five years there and rising from business intelligence architect to BI manager. In 2019, he moved into a BI analyst role at Nuance Communications, before joining Microsoft in 2022, where he worked until 2025.
Across these roles, a clear pattern emerges: Steve thrives at the intersection of data, systems, and decision-making. But entrepreneurship gives him something more—the freedom to apply those skills directly to problems that affect everyday life.
Steve Nganga’s work is driven by quiet confidence rather than noise. He builds with intention, favors usefulness over hype, and believes that the most meaningful innovations are the ones that make life just a little easier for a lot of people.
Whether through technology, leadership, or thoughtful design, his focus remains the same: creating solutions that are reliable, human, and built to last.
