Libya’s Zallaf for Oil and Gas Company announced on Wednesday that it has completed its first oil export from the Chadar oil field, located in the Sirte Basin southeast of Ajdabiya in eastern Libya.
The company, a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), confirmed the milestone in a statement posted on its verified Facebook page but did not disclose the destination of the shipment, which comprised more than 600,000 barrels of high-quality Sidra crude.

At the Chadar field, also referred to as NC-126, Zallaf said that more than five development wells have been completed as part of the project’s first phase.
Production at the site began in January, yielding over 7.5 million cubic feet of associated gas and around 1,500 barrels of crude oil per day, according to Reuters.
In March 2023, Zallaf signed an agreement with U.S.-based Honeywell to carry out engineering work for its planned South Refinery project, which is expected to cost between $500 million and $600 million.
The refinery is designed to process approximately 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day, producing a range of conventional petroleum products.
