The United Arab Emirates has prohibited Sudanese aircraft from landing at its airports, according to Sudan’s Civil Aviation Authority, which was quoted by the country’s state news agency on Wednesday.
The authority also reported that a Sudanese airliner was prevented from taking off from Abu Dhabi airport.

Sudan’s aviation authority expressed surprise at the UAE’s move and said it is working with airlines to reschedule bookings for passengers traveling to and from the Gulf state.
Officials in Abu Dhabi have not yet responded to the statement from Sudan.
Tensions between the two nations have been rising.
In May, Sudan cut diplomatic ties with the UAE, accusing the Gulf country of supplying advanced weapons to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces involved in Sudan’s civil war, which began in April 2023.
The UAE has consistently denied these accusations.
