Born in 1974 in Kumba, Cameroon, and originally from Egbuoma in Oguta LGA of Imo State, Nigeria, Linus began carving his leadership path early in life.
At Imo State University, where he studied History and International Relations, he made history by becoming the first elected Students’ Union Government president.
This bold step into leadership wasn’t just a title, it was the spark that would later ignite a movement.
He later earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, USA.
His academic pursuits didn’t stop there, he is also an alumnus of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, and completed the Executive Leadership Education program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Additionally, he holds a certification in The Art and Practice of Leadership Development and is a Fellow at the African Business School.
Dr. Okorie is the Founder and President of Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI), a nonprofit leadership development organization founded in 2008.
GOTNI has since grown into a globally recognized leadership institution.
With an Afrocentric approach, it is committed to building leadership capital across Africa, one leader at a time.
Through this platform and beyond, Linus Okorie’s leadership programs have directly inspired over 300,000 individuals across Africa, with millions more reached through radio, television, and print media.
His work as the West African representative of Adair International (UK) has also positioned him as a leader in exporting leadership education tailored to Africa’s unique socio-economic context.

With over 250 local and international awards, his accolades include the prestigious Best of Africa Award by USAfrica Magazine in Houston, Texas, and most notably, in 2022, he received Nigeria’s national honor, Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), from President Muhammadu Buhari for his selfless contributions to leadership development.
In 2019, he took his passion for change into the political space by running for Governor of Imo State.
