Tech Women Fest 2025 to Highlight Women’s Role in Africa’s Digital Future

Africa’s technology community will once again gather in Lagos as Tech Women Fest 2025 takes place on October 11, 2025, at Regal Hall, Oregun, Lagos, Nigeria.

The event, convened by NezaTech Africa, is expected to bring together hundreds of women in technology, founders, industry leaders, and investors under the theme Tech for Impact: Innovating Solutions for Africa’s Challenges.

The conference is designed as a platform for discussion and knowledge sharing around some of the most pressing issues shaping Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Sessions will cover women’s participation in STEM, the growth of African startups, investment in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, and the need to build more inclusive digital communities across the continent.

Founder of NezaTech Africa, Toyin Abioye, said the gathering aims to create both visibility and opportunity for women in tech.

“Our goal is to empower women and provide a space where they can learn, grow and collaborate. We want to create a network of women in tech that transcends borders and unlocks endless opportunities,” she noted.

Abioye also highlighted the persistent gender gap in the sector, pointing to statistics that show women hold only 28 percent of roles in STEM and 19 percent of leadership positions.

The speaker lineup reflects a diverse mix of innovators and decision-makers from across the African tech landscape.

Among those confirmed are Kieva Chris Amusan of Fertitude, Justina Oha of Digital Equity Africa, Ashley Immanuel of Semicolon, Chioma Okotcha Faloughi of Rivy, and Tolulope Obianwu of Moniepoint Inc.

Panel sessions and workshops will address issues such as leadership barriers, access to funding, and strategies to foster collaboration in fast-changing markets.

According to Tolu Olawumi, Event Producer, the energy surrounding the festival goes beyond the program itself.

The 2024 edition of the festival offered a glimpse of this momentum.

Held at Zone Tech Park in Lagos, it attracted more than 250 participants and featured entrepreneurs and executives such as Mercy Akamo of Turog Technologies and Tedx Lagos and Tomilola Majekodunmi of Bankly.

The program combined keynote addresses with live demonstrations of solutions developed by women across the continent, sparking conversations on innovation and mentorship that continue into this year.

Reflecting on the significance of the initiative, Toyin Abioye added, “Tech Women Fest is our way of saying to every woman in tech, ‘You belong here, and your contributions are vital.’ The turnout and engagement show the power of women to transform Africa’s digital landscape.”

As the countdown begins, the upcoming edition promises to be a moment of reflection and forward thinking for the sector.

By convening women who are breaking new ground, Tech Women Fest 2025 is set to contribute to shaping a more inclusive and innovative future for Africa’s digital economy.
