Spain and Algeria are in discussions to increase the flow of natural gas through the Medgaz pipeline by as much as 10%, according to two sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reported.

One of the sources said the talks are at an advanced stage, noting that a preliminary agreement could be reached during the visit of José Manuel Albares to Algiers this week.
The proposed increase is considered feasible because the pipeline already has the capacity to raise gas flows by about 1 billion cubic metres (bcm) per year, the sources added.
