The album represents another stage in a career shaped by experimentation and artistic growth. Born Anthony Victor, Victony began his musical journey as a rapper before expanding his sound to incorporate elements of R&B, trap and Afropop.
His profile grew significantly through his collaboration with Mayorkun on “Holy Father,” which introduced his sound to a wider audience. That momentum continued with the release of “Soweto” in March 2022, a record that became a favourite among listeners and further established his presence in the Nigerian music scene.
Those releases contributed to Victony’s transition from an emerging artist into a recognised voice with a musical identity that comfortably crosses genres.
With Starlife, that evolution continues. The range of collaborators brings different sounds and personalities into the project while giving Victony another platform to showcase the versatility that has characterised his career.
The arrival of his second album also gives listeners an opportunity to experience how far his artistry has developed from his early days as a rapper to the genre-blending approach that now defines his music.
As Starlife reaches audiences, the album marks another important milestone for Victony and signals the beginning of a new phase in his growing career within Nigeria’s vibrant music industry.
