The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Friday that its staff held discussions with Gabonese authorities in Libreville on the country’s macroeconomic situation, policy developments, and strategies to implement its growth plans, according to Reuters.

The talks focused on ongoing reforms aimed at improving public financial management and governance, while highlighting the importance of prudent fiscal and financial policies to maintain macroeconomic stability in Gabon and the wider region, the IMF said.
“Policy dialogue with the authorities will continue in the weeks ahead, including during the upcoming IMF Spring Meetings,” the fund added after concluding the discussions.
