Fidson Stock Jumps 37% Month-to-Date on NGX in Early January, Nears N70

Shares of Fidson Healthcare Plc have surged more than 37 percent month-to-date on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), climbing toward the N70 mark in early trading on Friday.

The stock, which opened the month around N50, reached approximately N69 as of the pre-market session on January 9, 2026, buoyed by strong trading activity and investor interest.

Over 10 million shares have already changed hands, pushing the price past both the N50 and N60 levels.

Fidson’s rally follows a 231.5 percent gain in 2025, as investors responded to the company’s improving financial performance and optimism about future growth.

In November 2025, Fidson released its unaudited financial results for the third quarter, showing a slight increase in pre-tax profit to N2.9 billion, compared with N2.87 billion in the same period in 2024.

Revenue grew to N30.4 billion, up 35.4 percent year-on-year, driven by higher product sales across both ethical and over-the-counter pharmaceutical segments.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2025, the company reported a 131.74 percent increase in pre-tax profit to N11.9 billion, underscoring a period of robust earnings growth.

In December 2025, Fidson formally launched a ₦21 billion Rights Issue, offering existing shareholders new shares at ₦35 each as part of plans to expand manufacturing capacity, support product development, and extend its footprint across Africa.

The combination of improving fundamentals, capital-raising initiatives, and strategic partnerships appears to be boosting investor confidence in Fidson as the new year begins.
