Egypt is developing a new trade policy aimed at addressing import costs and aligning with upcoming regional trade agreements, Planning Minister Rania Al-Mashat said on Wednesday.
Speaking during a panel at the Reuters NEXT Gulf Summit in Abu Dhabi, Al-Mashat noted that the policy framework will focus on the cost and pricing of imports from different regions.

She explained that the government’s objective is to ensure that trade policies reflect Egypt’s evolving economic priorities and partnerships.
Egypt, one of the world’s largest wheat importers, is seeking to strengthen its position in regional and international trade through this new strategy, Reuters reported.
