Dr. Adeola Olubamiji: Empowering Immigrants, Elevating Careers, and Shaping the Future of STEM

Dr. Adeola Olubamiji, fondly known as Dr. Addy, is a woman whose story ignites hope, courage, and transformation.

Born and raised in the heart of Ibadan, Nigeria, her journey from modest beginnings to becoming a globally celebrated technologist, educator, and career strategist is nothing short of inspiring.

She made history as the first Black person to earn a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.

With an academic foundation rooted in a Bachelor’s degree in Physics with Electronics from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria, and a Master’s degree from Tampere University of Technology in Finland, her path has been carved through resilience, brilliance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Driven by a passion to serve, Dr. Olubamiji is the founder and CEO of Pathfinder Consulting, a life-changing agency designed to help immigrants thrive professionally as they transition into new countries.

Since launching the agency in 2021, she has helped over 15,000 individuals reimagine their career trajectories, secure six-figure jobs, and create lives they are proud of.

Her unique ability to guide people out of survival mode and into career abundance has positioned her as a trusted voice in immigrant success coaching.

But Dr. Addy didn’t stop there.

She also founded the STEMHub Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Canada dedicated to supporting Black youth and visible minorities in STEM fields.

Through free workshops, mentoring programs, scholarships, and skill-building opportunities, STEMHub has reached over 10,000 participants, equipping them with tools to dream bigger and build careers that matter.

Her work has earned her well-deserved recognition around the world.

In 2020, she received the prestigious RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award.

She was also honored as a L’Oréal Paris Woman of Worth and named among the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.

She has been celebrated by the Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead program and recognized as an Influential Woman in Manufacturing.

These accolades are not just trophies, they are a testament to the lives she has touched, the barriers she has broken, and the systems she continues to change.

Today, Dr. Adeola Olubamiji stands as more than just a highly accomplished scientist and entrepreneur.

She is a beacon for immigrants navigating unfamiliar paths, a mentor for young professionals seeking clarity and confidence, and a changemaker committed to making the future of work more inclusive.

Her voice carries both the authority of experience and the warmth of someone who has walked in the shoes of those she now lifts.

She is proof that where you start doesn’t define how far you can go, and she continues to light the way for thousands more to follow.
