Yetunde Hunga: How Aduni AI Is Turning AI Content Creation Into a Global Income Opportunity for African Creators

Artificial intelligence is changing the economics of content production, creating new possibilities for businesses and independent creatives. For Nigerian entrepreneur Yetunde Hunga, the opportunity extends beyond producing compelling digital content. It is about helping African creators develop marketable skills, build sustainable businesses and compete for opportunities beyond their immediate environments.

As the founder of Aduni AI and an AI Creative Director, Yetunde has built a business combining AI-powered content production for brands with practical education for aspiring creators. What began as an experiment with AI-generated videos has developed into a professional venture serving businesses across skincare, real estate, fintech and technology, including international brands.

Her journey reflects a growing shift in the creative economy, where emerging technologies are making certain forms of production more accessible while placing greater importance on strategy, storytelling and commercial understanding.

Beyond her client work, Yetunde has built a community of more than 45,000 people and taught hundreds of students seeking to develop their own paths in AI-powered content creation. Her experience has also reinforced an important distinction: learning to use AI tools is only the beginning. Turning those skills into income requires professionalism, effective pricing, strong portfolios and an understanding of what businesses actually need.

In this Spotlight Interview, Yetunde Hunga discusses the evolution of Aduni AI, the lessons behind her international brand partnerships and her vision for making AI content creation a respected career pathway for African talent.

Yetunde Hunga on Turning AI Content Creation Into a Business

CA: What first sparked your interest in AI content creation, and when did you realise it could become a business?

Yetunde: I started experimenting with AI-generated video almost out of curiosity, testing what these tools could actually do, long before “AI content creator” was a recognised title.

What struck me early on was how much creative control was suddenly possible without a camera crew, a studio or a huge budget.

The moment it clicked as a business wasn’t one single event. It was realising that brands were struggling to keep up with content demand, and AI gave me a way to produce high-quality, scroll-stopping content faster and more affordably than traditional production.

Once I saw brands actually paying for that value, I knew this wasn’t just a creative hobby. It was a real service.

CA: What inspired you to combine content production for brands with teaching others how to earn from the same skills?

Yetunde: I kept noticing the same pattern: people would see my content and ask, “How did you make that?” more than they asked about the brand I was working with.

That told me something important. There was just as much hunger to learn the skill as there was demand for the content itself.

Teaching felt like the natural extension of what I was already doing. I didn’t want to just produce content quietly in the background. I wanted to open the door for other creators, especially in Africa, to see this as a real income path, not just a trend.

Building AI Content That Delivers Business Value

CA: You have created content across skincare, real estate, fintech and technology. What have these industries taught you about producing AI content that delivers meaningful results for businesses?

Yetunde: Every industry has a different definition of value.

A skincare brand cares about trust and visible results. A real estate client cares about aspiration and lifestyle. A fintech or tech brand cares about clarity and credibility.

What I’ve learned is that AI content only works when it’s built around the business goal first, and the technology second.

The tools are powerful, but they’re only as effective as the strategy behind them. You need to understand the audience, the objection the content needs to overcome and the action you want someone to take.

CA: How do you balance creative storytelling with the technology behind your work?

Yetunde: I always start with the story, never the tool.

AI is incredibly capable, but if the storytelling is weak, the content falls flat no matter how advanced the technology is.

My process is to figure out the emotional hook or the message first. What do I want someone to feel or do after watching?

Only then do I decide which AI tools and techniques will bring that vision to life most convincingly.

Yetunde Hunga on Building Credibility With International Brands

CA: What were the biggest lessons you learned moving from a solo creator to working with international brands?

Yetunde: The biggest shift was learning to treat my creativity like a business, not just a passion project.

That meant getting comfortable with contracts, usage rights, rate cards and saying no to deals that undervalued my work.

Early on, I said yes to almost everything. Now I understand that consistency, professionalism and clear boundaries are what actually build long-term trust with brands, not just talent.

CA: In a relatively new creative industry, what has helped you establish credibility and secure paid partnerships?

Yetunde: Showing up consistently and being transparent about what I actually deliver.

In a space this new, a lot of people overpromise. I’ve built trust by being upfront about pricing, timelines and what AI can realistically do, and then exceeding that expectation with the final product.

Treating every small collaboration with the same professionalism as a major brand deal has built a reputation that speaks for itself over time.

Aduni AI and the Business of AI Content Creation in Africa

CA: What inspired you to begin teaching others how to turn AI skills into sustainable income?

Yetunde: I remember how disorienting it was to figure this all out alone, with no roadmap.

I wanted to shorten that learning curve for others.

There’s also something deeply motivating about seeing a student go from “I don’t even know where to start” to landing their first paid brand deal.

Teaching became a way to multiply the impact of everything I was learning in real time.

CA: What do you believe aspiring African creators need to understand about turning AI knowledge into a viable business?

Yetunde: That this is a real, global, monetisable skill, not just a trend to watch from the sidelines.

African creators are more than capable of competing for the same international brand deals I have, but it requires treating the craft seriously: learning the tools deeply, understanding how to price your work and building a portfolio that proves your value.

The opportunity is already here. What’s needed is the confidence and structure to claim it.

Yetunde Hunga on Building a Community of Over 45,000

CA: You have built a community of more than 45,000 people while teaching hundreds of students. How has that community influenced your development as a creator, educator and entrepreneur?

Yetunde: The community has become my accountability and my proof of concept at the same time.

Every piece of content I create is tested in real time against real engagement, which sharpens my instincts for what actually works for brands.

It’s also been a constant reminder of why I teach. Watching that audience grow alongside hundreds of students who are now building their own paths in AI content keeps me grounded in the bigger purpose behind the work.

Yetunde Hunga on the Future of AI Content Creation for African Creators

CA: Looking ahead, what impact would you like your work to have on AI-powered creativity and income opportunities for African creators?

Yetunde: I want Aduni AI to be proof that African creators don’t have to wait for opportunity to come from elsewhere. We can build it ourselves, with tools that are available to anyone willing to learn.

My hope is that years from now, this won’t be seen as a niche skill, but as a standard, respected career path, with African creators recognised globally as leaders in AI-powered content, not just participants in it.
