Tinubu donates all salaries since assuming office to support soldiers, families President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the donation of all his salaries since assuming office to support Nigerian soldiers and the families of fallen military personnel.
The President made this known on Sunday while marking his 74th birthday, alongside the launch of a special welfare fund dedicated to members of the Armed Forces.

According to the statement, the fund is designed to provide financial support for soldiers injured in the line of duty, as well as widows, widowers, and children of personnel who lost their lives defending the country.
Tinubu directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to create a dedicated account to manage the fund, ensuring proper disbursement and transparency.
As part of his personal contribution, the President pledged that all his earnings since he assumed office in May 2023 would serve as seed funding for the initiative, regardless of existing military insurance or welfare schemes.
He further called on state governors, members of the National Assembly, private sector stakeholders, and well-meaning Nigerians to contribute to the fund.

Tinubu stressed that supporting military personnel and their families is not an act of charity but a national duty, given the sacrifices they make to ensure the country’s security.
