The European Union announced on Thursday that it will provide around 63 million euros ($74.39 million) in humanitarian assistance to Somalia.
Somalia has been affected by ongoing clashes between Somali armed forces and al-Shabaab militants, as well as recurring droughts. The EU said the new funding will focus on life-saving health and nutrition services.

With this latest package, the EU said it has delivered more than 750 million euros in humanitarian aid to Somalia since 2017.
Earlier in February, the World Food Programme said its emergency food and nutrition support in Somalia could stop by April if additional funding is not secured.
The EU did not state when the newly announced aid will be disbursed.
