Burkina Faso is continuing its push to digitize public administration as part of broader efforts to modernize government services.
On Wednesday, January 14, the Minister of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications, Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, met with a delegation from Egyptian technology group MAG Trade & Investment, which presented a range of proposed digital projects, We are Tech Africa reported.
According to information released by the ministry, the discussions focused on digital solutions for the health sector and the development of digital identity systems.
These areas are among the government’s priorities, as Burkina Faso has for several years committed to modernizing public administration and improving access to public services.
MAG Trade & Investment, accompanied by Burkina Faso’s National Bureau of Major Projects (BN-GPB), said it was seeking cooperation centered on skills transfer, local capacity building, and the deployment of sustainable digital solutions.
The company also said it aims to help structure projects that align with Burkina Faso’s national digital development strategy.

The talks come as Burkina Faso works to strengthen its digital ecosystem, with several reforms underway, including the digitization of administrative procedures, improved interoperability between public systems, and stronger protection of user data.
Authorities see digital identity solutions as a key tool for improving the efficiency of public services and promoting digital inclusion.
Officials said that opening the market to foreign investors and operators is intended to help bridge technological and financial gaps while reinforcing national expertise.
Minister Aminata Zerbo/Sabane welcomed the interest shown by the Egyptian group, noting that such initiatives are consistent with the government’s vision of accelerating digital transformation.
No agreements were announced at this stage, but officials said the discussions could lead to structured partnerships as Burkina Faso steps up efforts to make digital technology a core driver of public service modernization and economic development.
