Namibia’s President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has dismissed Natangwe Ithete from his positions as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy, according to a statement issued by the presidency on Sunday, reported by Reuters.
“In the interest of ensuring continuity and effective coordination within this key sector, President Nandi-Ndaitwah will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, effective immediately,” the statement said. No reason was provided for the decision.

Ithete, who was appointed to the dual roles in March as part of Nandi-Ndaitwah’s new administration, will continue to serve as a member of parliament, the presidency confirmed.
