Spotlight on Wunmi Williams: Redefining Fashion Retail in Nigeria Through Vision, Resilience, and Homegrown Excellence

In a world where luxury retail often feels out of reach for local entrepreneurs, Wunmi Williams has carved out a space that’s not only premium, but proudly homegrown.

She is the founder and CEO of Nakenohs Boulevard, an upscale retail destination in Ikoyi, Lagos, that brings together curated fashion, lifestyle, and community under one refined roof.

But long before the polished floors and elegant storefronts, her journey began with something far more humble: the boot of her car.

Wunmi’s path to success is rooted in resilience, deep faith, and an unwavering work ethic shaped by her upbringing.

After studying Retail Management at the University of Surrey and interning at Nordstrom in Atlanta, she returned to Nigeria in 2003, not with a finished blueprint, but with a clear mission, to build a fashion-forward retail experience with purpose and personality.

Starting small, she began selling accessories wherever she could, listening to the market, learning on the go, and building trust with her customers.

It didn’t take long for her instincts and creativity to blossom into something bigger.

She launched Nakenohs, a name drawn from her maiden name spelled backward, which soon found a home on Military Street, Onikan, gaining attention for its unique style and curated offerings.

But Wunmi had a bigger vision: not just a store, but a retail hub that would elevate the entire shopping experience in Lagos.

Despite the financial challenges that come with such a bold dream, she pressed on, strategically raising capital, forming strong partnerships with tenants, and designing a space that reflected her high standards.

That dream became Nakenohs Boulevard, a boutique mall that now houses a variety of fashion brands and serves as a destination for shoppers seeking more than just products, an experience.

What makes Wunmi’s leadership stand out is her blend of structure and passion.

She runs her business with clear expectations, detailed processes, and a deep sense of purpose.

Her faith plays a major role in every decision, and she’s never shy to credit divine guidance as part of her journey.

Balancing life as a business leader and a mother of four, Wunmi continues to inspire others through her example.

She’s a reminder that you don’t need perfect conditions to build something remarkable, you need a clear vision, relentless determination, and the courage to start with what you have.

Wunmi Williams is building more than a retail empire. She’s building a legacy, one that shows future entrepreneurs what’s possible when ambition meets action, and when faith fuels every step forward.
