REWA, the powerful voice of cultural pride and artistic brilliance, was born on September 8, 1987, in Nigeria.
A self-taught visual artist, she masterfully intertwines her Igbo heritage with contemporary artistry, proving that tradition and modern expression can not only coexist but create something timeless.
Raised between Nigeria and England, REWA earned a BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology from University College London (UCL).
Despite her scientific background, she ventured into the financial sector, amassing over 15 years of experience and currently serving as Director of Investment Management at Chapel Hill Denham.
Parallel to her finance career, REWA’s passion for art flourished.
Drawing inspiration from her multicultural upbringing, she developed a distinctive style she terms “Igbo Vernacular Art,” reflecting her deep-seated connection to her cultural roots.
Her vibrant acrylic and ink portraits predominantly celebrate African women, capturing the essence of Igbo traditions and the empowerment of women in Onitsha.
REWA’s artworks have graced exhibitions across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, earning her international acclaim.
In 2024, her dual excellence in finance and art was honored with the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Award.
This accolade underscores her multifaceted contributions and her role as a trailblazer for women in both industries.
Through her art, REWA not only showcases the richness of Igbo culture but also bridges the gap between traditional heritage and modern expression.
Her journey exemplifies how diverse passions can harmoniously coexist, leading to a life rich in purpose and impact.
