Olamide Ojo: Building a Tech-Driven Vision for Nigeria’s Real Estate Future

For Olamide Ojo, building in real estate is as much about systems and technology as it is about physical development. With a background spanning Computer Science, business management and entrepreneurial training, he has brought these disciplines together in his leadership of Dexta Africa Limited, applying systems thinking to some of the persistent challenges within Nigeria’s property market.

His decision to focus on real estate grew from identifying gaps in traditional property operations, including inefficient processes, opaque documentation and Nigeria’s housing deficit. Through Dexta Africa, Olamide is working to address these challenges with technology, structured operations and a business philosophy anchored on professionalism, integrity and excellence.

In this Spotlight Interview with CA, Olamide discusses technology in real estate, customer trust, sustainable development, the responsibility that comes with young leadership and his ambition to build Dexta Africa into an enduring African institution.

Olamide Ojo on Building With Systems and Strategy

CA: How has your background in Computer Science and business shaped the way you lead Dexta Africa?

Olamide Ojo: Computer Science trained me to think in systems, logic and scalability. It taught me to take complex problems and break them down into structured, efficient processes. Business and entrepreneurial management equipped me with strategic foresight, financial discipline and an understanding of market dynamics and human leadership.

At Dexta Africa, this means every strategic decision is both data-informed and execution-focused. Computer Science drives our efficiency and digital adoption, while business management ensures operational excellence and financial sustainability.

CA: What convinced you that real estate was an industry where you could make a difference?

Olamide Ojo: The transition into real estate wasn’t accidental. It was driven by an obvious market gap. I realised that traditional real estate was burdened by inefficiency, opaque documentation processes and a massive housing deficit.

With my technology and business background, I saw an opportunity to rethink how real estate operations and property development were executed.

Dexta Africa was born from the drive to bridge these gaps, applying systems thinking to physical space and leveraging technology and sound business models to build structured communities and reduce the nation’s housing deficit.

CA: What principles have guided Dexta Africa’s growth?

Olamide Ojo: Our growth has been anchored on three uncompromising pillars: professionalism, integrity and excellence.

In an industry where trust is paramount, we position Dexta Africa as a benchmark for reliability. We focus on fast-tracked documentation, strict adherence to project delivery timelines and exceptional quality housing solutions.

We are not simply selling land or structures. We are focused on building functional, long-lasting spaces that deliver genuine long-term value to our clients.

CA: How are you using technology to improve the property experience for clients?

Olamide Ojo: We view technology as an essential bridge between us and our clients. We have integrated virtual inspections and interactive tours, allowing prospective buyers locally and in the diaspora to experience properties remotely.

We also use automated client dashboards for tracking payments, documentation and project milestones, alongside land verification technology for title and boundary checks.

On the development side, we incorporate smart building features that enhance comfort, energy efficiency and security.

CA: What does an excellent customer experience mean to you in real estate?

Olamide Ojo: It means absolute peace of mind from initial contact to post-handover.

For us, that includes transparent pricing with no hidden fees, seamless documentation delivery and post-purchase property management support. Our relationship with a client doesn’t end when keys or titles are handed over.

When clients feel informed, secure and valued throughout the process, that is true service excellence.

CA: You received the SME100 Nigeria 25 Under 25 Award and a FOYA 25 Under 25 nomination. What did those recognitions mean to you?

Olamide Ojo: They were both humbling and deeply validating. More than personal accolades, they validated the vision behind Dexta Africa and showed that young leadership grounded in structure and integrity can build a real venture in Africa.

They also reinforced my sense of responsibility. As young business leaders, our work is under a spotlight. We are inspiring others, setting industry standards and creating opportunities for the next generation.

CA: Where do you see the biggest opportunity for Nigeria’s real estate industry?

Olamide Ojo: The biggest opportunity lies at the intersection of PropTech, affordable housing and sustainable urban development.

There are opportunities in automated land verification, digital asset tokenization, off-site prefabrication and smart, eco-friendly community builds. Developers who can combine technological efficiency with transparent, accessible buyer financing models will define the next decade of Nigerian real estate.

CA: What legacy do you ultimately want to build through Dexta Africa?

Olamide Ojo: I want Dexta Africa to be defined by three things: innovative, trustworthy and transformative.

I want us to be remembered as an organisation that raised the bar for real estate delivery in Nigeria and demonstrated that tech-driven innovation, absolute integrity and large-scale housing accessibility can coexist.

My legacy goal is to build an enduring institution that reduces the national housing deficit, empowers thousands of young professionals and becomes a benchmark for how modern African enterprises can operate with global excellence.
