Africa’s biggest mobile operator, MTN Group (MTNJ.J), said on Monday that Ferdi Moolman, currently serving as Group Chief Risk Officer, will take over from Charles Molapisi as CEO and Executive Director of MTN South Africa.
The leadership shake-up comes as part of the company’s ongoing strategic review and changes to its operating model, Reuters reported.

Molapisi will return to his previous position as Group Chief Technology and Information Officer, effective November 1, MTN said in a statement announcing a series of executive changes.
The company also revealed that Tsholofelo Molefe, Group Chief Financial Officer, will see her responsibilities broaden to include the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) portfolio.
Meanwhile, Kholekile Ndamase, Chief M&A and Business Development Officer, will step down from the group executive committee. He will now report directly to Molefe in her role as steward of the capital allocation framework, MTN added.
