Morocco received a record 19.8 million tourists in 2025, a 14% increase from the previous year, the country’s tourism ministry said on Monday.
As seen on Reuters, Tourism contributes roughly 7% of Morocco’s gross domestic product and remains a major source of employment and foreign currency earnings.

The ministry noted that the country has opened new air routes to key international markets, promoted emerging destinations within Morocco, and encouraged the sector to renovate existing hotels and launch new ones.
Between January and November, tourism revenue reached 124 billion dirhams ($13.5 billion), marking a 19% rise compared with the same period in 2024, according to the ministry’s statement.
Morocco aims to attract 26 million tourists by 2030, when it will co-host the FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
