Production at Libya’s Sharara oilfield is expected to return to normal levels within 48 hours, according to two field engineers who spoke to Reuters on Sunday.
Operations at the site were gradually reduced earlier this month after an explosion triggered by a fire in one of its pipelines.
Sharara remains one of Libya’s largest oil-producing fields, with an output capacity ranging between 300,000 and 320,000 barrels per day.

The field is connected to the country’s Zawiya refinery, which has a processing capacity of 120,000 barrels per day and is located about 40 km (25 miles) west of the capital, Tripoli.
