Lagos State has collaborated with Huawei Technologies to deploy four new Intelligent Transport System (ITS) sites across key locations, aiming to improve traffic management and road safety.
This initiative is part of Lagos’ smart city ambitions, leveraging advanced technology to enhance urban mobility and ease congestion.
The new ITS sites will utilize Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and Traffic Management Solution (TMS) devices to streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion.
This will provide real-time traffic information, enabling better route planning and reducing travel times for daily commuters.
The partnership is expected to have a significant impact on logistics companies, businesses, and residents, leading to increased efficiency, cost savings, and enhanced productivity.
Huawei’s involvement in this project is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Nigeria’s technology and infrastructure sectors.
This collaboration marks another milestone in Huawei’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation and infrastructure development.
Previous initiatives include the launch of a local cloud service, the introduction of advanced solar solutions, and the development of a high-speed wireless government campus network.
