Daniel Krull, Germany’s new Consul General in Lagos, has pledged to strengthen economic, cultural, and academic cooperation between Germany and Nigeria.
Speaking at a Monday press conference at a German Consulate in Lagos, Krull described Lagos as Nigeria’s economic hub and cited his experience as Germany’s ambassador to Ghana as preparation for the role.
Krull said improving visa services is a priority, noting the consulate processes over 10,000 visas annually.
He announced that visa counters would be doubled, external service providers would support certain visa categories, and a diploma verification system is being developed. “We are trying to serve our Nigerian customers better in future,” he said.

“There is a wide basket of promising areas of cooperation, and I hope to act as a facilitator across sectors,” Krull said.
