From the modest streets of Imo State, Nigeria, where dreams often meet hard realities, a young boy once envisioned a world where health education was not limited to textbooks or waiting rooms.

That boy, Chinonso Fidelis Egemba, grew into the man millions now know as Aproko Doctor, a physician, digital health advocate, and humanitarian who’s reshaping how we view healthcare in the digital age.
Before his name became synonymous with health awareness on the internet, Dr. Egemba was just like any other medical student, navigating long hours of study and clinical practice.
He earned his MBBS from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 2015 and began his medical journey at the Imo State University Teaching Hospital.
But it didn’t take long for him to realize that something was missing.
While he treated patients within hospital walls, he saw a much larger population, outside those walls, being left behind.
Many Nigerians, especially in underserved communities, were unaware of basic health information that could prevent illness or even save lives.
That gap between knowledge and access became his fuel.
In 2017, Lagos became his new home and more importantly, his launching pad.
With a smartphone in hand and a deep sense of purpose, Chinonso reintroduced himself to the world as Aproko Doctor.

Social media became his platform, and public health became his message.
In simple, clear language, he began demystifying health concepts and making them relatable.
Whether it was high blood pressure, mental health, or nutrition, he made sure his followers didn’t just listen, they understood.
And people did more than listen, they acted.
His short videos started saving lives.
Naturally, the world began to take notice.
His efforts earned him Health Influencer of the Year (2020), recognition as a Public Health Advocate by WHO Nigeria (2022), and Educational Content Creator of the Year (2024), just to name a few.
But accolades, while appreciated, have never been his end goal.
Impact is.
And his impact doesn’t stop on social media.
He co-founded Ask Awa Doc, a platform that connects everyday Nigerians to verified medical professionals, ensuring access to credible advice and care.
He also serves as the Executive Director of The 100K Club, a nonprofit that raises funds for individuals who can’t afford medical treatment, ensuring no one is left behind simply because they lack resources.
His reach even extends to the big screen.
In 2022, he starred in Netflix’s “Strain”, a film created to raise awareness about sickle cell anemia.
For Dr. Egemba, it wasn’t about acting, it was about advocacy through another lens.
His presence in film underscored the power of storytelling in healthcare education.
Today, Aproko Doctor is more than just a persona, it’s a symbol of what happens when passion, purpose, and innovation collide.
In a country where misinformation often spreads faster than facts, he remains a steady voice of reason and reliability.
His work reminds us that medicine isn’t only about science, it’s deeply rooted in empathy, communication, and accessibility.
From a hopeful boy in a small village to a digital trailblazer influencing millions, Dr. Chinonso Egemba has become a beacon of change.

He’s not just educating a nation, he’s transforming the way we view health, one video, one life, and one voice at a time.
