Senegal has revised its 2025 oil production forecast for the Sangomar offshore field, operated by Australia’s Woodside Energy Group (WDS.AX), increasing the target to 34.5 million barrels from the earlier projection of 30.53 million barrels, the Ministry of Energy announced on Monday.

The Sangomar field, which began production in June 2024 and marked Senegal’s entry as an oil-producing nation, has already delivered more than 24 million barrels of crude oil between January and August 2025, according to a ministry statement released on X, Reuters reported.
