When passion meets purpose, incredible change is born, and Yewande Banire is living proof of that truth. From experiencing the often-unspoken struggles of perimenopause to building trusted wellness hubs in both the U.S. and Nigeria, Yewande’s journey is one of courage, empathy, and innovation.
As a women’s health expert and hormone specialist, she has turned her own pain into a platform for healing. Her work addresses the critical gaps in education and care around perimenopause, menopause, fibroids, PCOS, and metabolic health, topics that many women have been conditioned to suffer through in silence.
Through Serene Infusion & Wellness Lounge in the U.S. and Serenara Wellness in Nigeria, she is creating safe spaces where women feel heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Yewande’s story is about medicine, advocacy, breaking barriers, and making health care equitable and accessible. It’s about giving women the language, tools, and confidence to understand and take control of their bodies.
In this interview, Yewande opens up about the personal experiences that fueled her mission, the challenges of expanding her vision across continents, and the future she’s building for women’s wellness everywhere.

CA: Yewande, your journey as a women’s health expert and hormone specialist is truly inspiring. Can you take us back to how it all began?
Yewande: Thank you. My journey really began with my own pain and experience during perimenopause. As a medical provider, I was struck by how little was being said about this stage of life, even though the symptoms can be life-altering.
Going through it myself opened my eyes to the silence, the dismissal, and the confusion that so many women face. That personal experience fueled my passion to create safe, informed spaces where women don’t just suffer quietly but receive answers, support, and care that helps them thrive.
CA: It’s powerful to see how a personal struggle became the driving force behind a mission to change lives. Launching wellness practices in both the U.S. and Nigeria is no small feat. What was your vision when starting Serene Infusion & Wellness Lounge and Serenara Wellness, and how did you bring those ideas to life?
Yewande: Serene Infusion & Wellness Lounge was built to provide hormone therapy, infusion treatments, and midlife wellness care in the U.S., while Serenara Wellness was created to fill critical gaps in women’s healthcare in Nigeria, focusing on perimenopause, menopause, fibroids, PCOS, and metabolic health.
My vision was to make trusted, evidence-based care accessible to women in both countries, bridging education, advocacy, and clinical support.
CA: Such a powerful vision! The world of women’s health is complex and constantly evolving. What challenges did you face in your journey and how did you push through them?
Yewande: I faced cultural silence around women’s health, systemic inequities, and the challenge of expanding services across two continents.
Pushing through required persistence, building trust in new spaces, and staying committed to my mission of creating safe, informed spaces for women.

CA: Your resilience really stands out. Your career has been built on hard work, clinical expertise, and persistence. What kept you motivated, especially during the tough early days?
Yewande: Seeing the difference I could make in women’s lives kept me motivated. Knowing that I was giving women language and tools to finally understand their bodies was deeply rewarding.
CA: That must be so fulfilling. How has your background and experience shaped the way you approach patient-centered care and culturally competent wellness strategies today?
Yewande: My journey involved balancing clinical care, teaching, and eventually entrepreneurship. I served as a lecturer, teaching nursing students, before founding my own practice.
The process required persistence and dedication, especially in creating trust across two continents. My experience in both clinical care and education shaped the way I approach patient-centered care today.
CA: You’ve inspired many women worldwide through your clinical work, authorship, and advocacy. How does it feel knowing your journey is guiding women to better hormonal health and overall wellness?
Yewande: It’s incredibly fulfilling. Creating a trusted practice that serves women both in the U.S. and Nigeria and providing them with the knowledge and tools to thrive is the greatest accomplishment of my career.
CA: That’s beautiful. And you’ve grown such a strong presence and voice in women’s health, both online and offline. What inspired you to share your knowledge and experiences through books, speaking, and advocacy?
Yewande: I wanted to break the silence around women’s health, especially perimenopause, menopause, fibroids, and PCOS. Sharing knowledge through speaking engagements, books, and digital resources empowers women to take control of their health and navigate hormonal changes confidently.
CA: You’re clearly on a mission! What’s next for you in your career? Any exciting projects, research, or milestones on the horizon in advancing women’s health?
Yewande: Next for me is establishing Serenara Wellness as Nigeria’s trusted hub for hormone health and midlife women’s care, while continuing my advocacy for healthcare equity and women’s empowerment through clinical practice, speaking, and education.
CA: That’s exciting! And before we wrap up, what’s one common misconception about hormonal health, menopause, or women’s wellness that you’d like to correct?
Yewande: One common misconception is that symptoms of perimenopause, menopause, or hormone-related conditions are just something women have to silently endure as part of aging.
The truth is, these changes can be understood, managed, and treated with the right education, care, and support.
CA: Finally, if you could give just one piece of advice to anyone aspiring to make an impact in women’s health, what would it be?
Yewande: Lead with empathy, stay grounded in science, and never be afraid to challenge systems that silence women’s health needs.

Beyond this spotlight, Yewande was also interviewed by Vanguard News and Arise News, where she shared more insights about her work that were not covered in our conversation. Here are some highlights from that conversation:
CA: Many would say Serenara Wellness is more than a clinic. How do you see it?
Yewande: This is more than a clinic, it is a movement. Too many women suffer in silence because their symptoms are dismissed, or they lack access to proper education. Serenara Wellness is here to change that narrative.
CA: Beyond clinical services, how are you making an impact in the wider society?
Yewande: My vision is not limited to treatment rooms but extends into the broader society through community education and advocacy.
This combination of clinical expertise and outreach ensures that women who may never have considered seeking care are now hearing a new message of hope and possibility.
CA: What is the core message you want women to hear from you?
Yewande: We cannot keep telling women to endure when there are solutions that restore their quality of life. My vision is to give women language, tools, and care so they can thrive.
CA: Advocacy seems central to your mission. How are you driving awareness in Nigeria?
Yewande: In recent weeks, I have appeared across Nigerian TV, radio, and podcasts to speak on perimenopause, menopause, and women’s hormone health.
I am also hosting a women’s health education series that will tackle sensitive but essential conversations around midlife wellness.
CA: If you could summarize your philosophy in a few words, what would it be?
Yewande: Listen. Heal. Thrive. In all, Yewande Banire’s story is one of courage, advocacy, and transformation, turning personal pain into a movement that is redefining women’s health and giving midlife women in both the U.S. and Nigeria the dignity, care, and voice they deserve.
