The vision is rooted in experience that dates back to 2007.
After completing secondary school, Joy began working as a secretary in an aluminium factory. Being inside the business exposed her to the processes, craftsmanship and attention to quality involved in roofing. Rather than viewing the position simply as a job, she became increasingly interested in how materials, technical expertise and workmanship came together to determine the quality of a finished roof.
That early exposure eventually shaped the direction of her career.
For Joy, roofing is not simply about supplying sheets or completing an installation. The finished product carries a responsibility to the customer, and she believes that responsibility should be reflected in the quality of the materials, workmanship and service delivered throughout the process.
It is an approach that has influenced what she wants AJ Bliss to represent.
Her ambition is to build a company known for impeccable quality, strong value and roofing solutions customers can trust. Joy’s entrepreneurial outlook was also shaped by an important lesson from her father. She recalls him telling her that she was born for greatness and teaching her that true wealth begins in the mind. The conversation influenced how she understood hard work and integrity and encouraged her to think beyond immediate difficulties towards creating something capable of becoming a lasting legacy.
That mindset has remained important as she develops AJ Bliss.
Her professional journey has been accompanied by continued education. Joy studied Business Administration at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, where she obtained National Diploma and Higher National Diploma qualifications. She later pursued postgraduate studies in Public Administration at Ahmadu Bello University, earning a postgraduate diploma and a master’s degree in the field.
She also identifies as a member of the Chartered Institute of Administration and lists affiliations with Empowered Women of Worth, the Abuja Aluminium and Metal Dealers Association and the Abuja Ingot Association.
But the future Joy is pursuing extends beyond the commercial growth of AJ Bliss.
As a woman building within a male dominated industry, she is passionate about empowering other women to recognise and pursue their potential. She finds fulfilment in contributing to other people’s success and wants her own journey to demonstrate that women can establish themselves and create meaningful value within traditionally male dominated sectors.
That wider purpose is closely connected to her long term ambitions.
Over the next five to ten years, Joy sees herself not simply running a thriving business but contributing to the transformation of the roofing industry. She wants to become recognised for innovation and excellence while building a reputation associated with integrity, mentorship and roofing solutions that deliver meaningful value to customers.
