Folasade Abimbola: The Personal Branding Goddess Redefining Visibility, Personal Branding, and Influence in Africa

Before people believe in a brand, they believe a story. And when that story is unclear, incomplete, or poorly told, even the most brilliant individuals can be overlooked.

Folasade Abimbola understands this better than most, and she has built a career correcting it.

Widely known as the Personal Branding Goddess, she is the person brands turn to when they’re tired of being overlooked, misread, or underestimated.

Not because they lack values but because their story hasn’t been told right. Folasade amplifies voices, refines them, sharpens them, and positions them so clearly that they can’t be ignored.

Her journey into this line of work didn’t happen by overnight. It was built layer by layer through storytelling, media, and marketing.

With a degree in Theatre Arts and Music from Lagos State University, where she majored in acting, Folasade learned early how stories move people, how emotion, timing, and delivery can shape perception. But she didn’t stop at theory.

She lived it. Working across film and television as a production assistant, scriptee, director’s assistant, and actor, she experienced storytelling from every angle, and understands how they are constructed.

Then she expanded her lens.

Moving into media and marketing, she gained hands-on experience across platforms while earning formal training in Public Relations and a diploma in marketing. This blend of creativity and strategy became her edge. Where others saw content, she saw positioning. Where others saw publicity, she saw perception.

That difference is what makes her work stand out.

Through Prime88 Concepts, the firm she founded, Folasade works closely with businesses, founders, CEOs  and executives, helping them communicate who they are in a way that actually connects and articulates their values, highlights what they’ve achieved, clarify their impact , and positions them as credible voices worth paying attention to, and creating Influence that last.

However she doesn’t hoard that knowledge behind closed doors.

Through mentorships, weekly group consultations for a select few, free and paid educational digital content and courses which includes her newly released free course, The Personal Branding & PR Course For Professionals, entrepreneurs, executives And Creatives , she teaches others how to start their personal brand and PR journey and take control of their narratives.

Entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, people who know they have something valuable but don’t yet know how to show it. She helps them figure it out.

She also is the founder of 88Lately, a platform that does something just as important, telling the stories that may go untold.

It shines a light on Africans doing remarkable things while also capturing the richness of the continent, its culture, its growth, its possibilities and opportunities for young people, creating a shift in perspective and negative media retorics.

Her love for the Africa culture extends even further into how people experience the continent. Through curated travel and lifestyle experiences, she promotes a balanced way of living, one that embraces both ambition and rest.

By showcasing the beauty of African destinations, she tells the story of Nigeria and Africa different from the usual gloom and doom and encourages people to explore the continent especially Nigeria.

Her work has taken her across industries, collaborating with brands and organizations like OPPO, MTV Staying Alive Foundation, Africa Re, EchooRoom Studios, including contributions to a Netflix-associated production, Inline. Different sectors, same outcome, clarity, credibility, and impact.

More recently, she stepped into a new kind role as a co-host and consulting producer on The Link Up Podcast by EchooRoom, alongside seasoned OAP Moet Abebe and reality star Teddy A, one of the most influential podcasts in Nigeria. Here, she’s shaping conversations.

Folasade Abimbola is also a certified member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and is currently studying Marketing Management at the University of California, Riverside, continuously refining her understanding of global strategy while staying rooted in African storytelling.

At the center of everything she does is a belief that feels simple, but carries weight.

“I care about you and I want you to win.”

And she means it.

Because beyond the titles, the platforms, and the results, Folasade’s real work is helping people be seen properly.

What Folasade Abimbola does is  beyond building brands — She is shaping perception, rewriting narratives, and showing a new generation what it means to be visible with intention.
