PAIX Data Centres has unveiled plans to build a cutting-edge data facility in Dakar, Senegal, marking another step in its mission to enhance Africa’s digital infrastructure.

The new data centre will leverage four submarine cables—ACE, MainOne, SAT3, and SHARE—providing high-speed Internet and seamless connectivity for businesses, Internet service providers (ISPs), and content networks.

Designed with scalability, security, and energy efficiency in mind, the facility will offer approximately 918 m² of usable space and up to 1.2 megawatts of critical power.

Its advanced infrastructure, including efficient cooling systems, robust security protocols, and scalable power solutions, is tailored to support Senegal’s growing digital economy and diverse client needs.

This expansion aligns with PAIX’s vision to position Senegal as a tech hub in West Africa, fostering innovation and investment in the country’s digital sector.

PAIX’s latest project follows the successful launch of its expanded 1.2MW data facility in Ghana in May 2024, a milestone made possible by a $20 million equity investment from Africa50 in 2022.
