Ooni Of Ife, Oore of Otun Ekiti accept patron roles in Standup For Wowen Society

The Standup for Women Society (SWS) has announced that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Oba Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, have accepted to serve as patrons of the organisation, strengthening its advocacy for women’s empowerment and social inclusion.

According to the group, the Ooni of Ife accepted the position of National Patron (Life) of the organisation, while the Oore of Otun Ekiti agreed to serve as the South-West Patron.

The appointments were formally acknowledged during ceremonial decoration events held in their respective domains in Ile-Ife and Otun Ekiti, attended by community leaders, members of the organisation and other stakeholders.

SWS described the acceptance of the roles by the two prominent traditional rulers as a significant endorsement of its mission to promote the welfare, protection and advancement of women across Nigeria.

The society noted that the royal backing is expected to strengthen advocacy efforts aimed at encouraging women’s participation in leadership, governance and socio-economic development.

The Guardian Nigeria The organisation’s International President, Barrister Deborah A. Ijadele-Adetona, expressed appreciation to the monarchs for their support and fatherly guidance.

She urged members of the society, particularly those in the South-West and across the country, to recommit themselves to the group’s objectives following the royal endorsement.
