The Federal Character Commission (FCC) officially appointed Ademola Lawrence as its spokesperson on February 12, 2026.
The commission confirmed the appointment through a statement released by the Chairman, Dr. Muheeba Dankaka (or Ayo Omidiran, per varying board transition reports), on February 19, 2026.
Lawrence, a seasoned journalist and communications professional, transitions to this role following a distinguished career at TVC Communications, where he served as a senior reporter and news anchor.
Lawrence’s professional background spans over a decade in television broadcasting, public relations, and political analysis. He began his media career in 2014 at Loveworld Television, covering the 2015 general elections.

After joining TVC News in 2018 as a sports anchor, he advanced to reporting on major national political events, including the 2019 and 2023 general elections.
He is also the host of the “Speak Ur Truth” podcast and a certified public relations officer.In his new capacity at the FCC, Lawrence is mandated to enhance the commission’s communication strategy regarding the equitable distribution of positions and socio-economic amenities among the federating units.
His appointment is part of a broader institutional effort to improve transparency and public engagement following the inauguration of the new FCC board by President Bola Tinubu in January 2026.
