Togo has officially launched its 2025–2026 seed cotton marketing season, with the announcement made on Thursday in the country’s northern Savanes region by the New Cotton Company of Togo (NSCT) and the National Federation of Cotton Producers’ Groups (FNGPC), reported by Togo First.
The two organizations said the season will open on December 15, 2025, beginning in the Kara region, before extending to the Plateaux region on January 10, 2026.
During the campaign, cotton farmers will sell their produce in partnership with the NSCT, which is responsible for providing the logistics required to ensure smooth collection operations and prompt payments to producers.

“Initial systems are already in place and teams are mobilized to ensure rapid collection,” the NSCT and FNGPC said.
The cotton slated for sale during the upcoming season is largely drawn from the 2024–2025 harvest, which totaled 60,403 tons. This output was 8.4% below the initial production forecast of 66,000 tons.
Since Singapore-based Olam assumed control of Togo’s cotton sector in 2020, national output had remained below 60,000 tons until the 2023–2024 season, when production rose to 67,000 tons, followed by 60,403 tons in the 2024–2025 season.
