The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on Wednesday that 11 new cases of Ebola have been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo since its last update on September 15.
The agency noted that the outbreak is showing a decreasing trend in recent weeks but stressed that vigilance remains essential.

As of September 21, a total of 57 cases had been recorded in Congo’s Kasai Province, including 10 classified as probable cases. The outbreak has also led to 35 confirmed deaths, along with 10 probable deaths, according to the WHO, Reuters reported.
“The outbreak shows a decreasing trend of cases in the recent week, nevertheless the attention remains high,” the agency said.
