Stacy Barivure Gokana: The Rising Force Behind Renacy Events Redefining Wedding Experiences in Nigeria

Since launching Renacy Events in 2022, Stacy Barivure Gokana has steadily risen as one of Nigeria’s most promising event planners, driven by a heartfelt mission to ensure couples become guests at their own weddings, fully present, relaxed, and stress-free.

Her journey into the events world began in 2017 with event design and decoration, where she developed her creative skills and a passion for crafting beautiful spaces.

But it wasn’t long before she felt called to expand into full-scale event planning, inspired by the desire to ease the stress many couples, especially women, face on their big day.

“I’ve always hated seeing brides stressed when they should be enjoying themselves,” Stacy shares. “That’s what pushed me into event planning. I wanted to change that experience.”

Starting out wasn’t easy. Stacy faced skepticism and undervaluation as a newcomer, with some clients offering little to no payment for her services.

“People underpriced me or asked me to work for free because I was new,” she recalls. “But thank God for growth and grace. Today, we’re privileged to serve high-paying clients and have made six figures in recent times.”

Grounded in faith and resilience, Stacy pressed on. A strong believer in divine timing, she reflects, “I’ve learned to wait on God for instructions before moving.”

This belief led her through a detour into makeup artistry in 2019, where she trained with Nukkie MUA and later upgraded her skills with Eden’s Glam and Boss Lady Makeover.

These experiences shaped her creative versatility and prepared her for the next phase of her journey.

By 2022, confident that it was time to fully pursue her passion, she launched Renacy Events, a brand built on creativity, meticulous planning, and client satisfaction.

Today, Renacy Events is more than just event planning. It includes Renacy Experience, specializing in surprises and gift packages, and Rings by Renacy, offering luxury and affordable rings.

This diversified approach reflects Stacy’s dynamic vision for delivering unforgettable experiences.

In addition to serving clients across Nigeria, Renacy Events is now actively building an international client base as a destination event planner, expanding its reach to create memorable events beyond borders.

Her work has earned her industry recognition, including a nomination for Event Planner of the Year at the 2023 WIP Awards.

In 2024, a proposal she orchestrated gained significant attention across blogs, while planning the wedding of Mr. Wole Obikoya’s son further elevated her profile.

Currently, Stacy is expanding her registered logistics company and preparing to open a dedicated office and décor space, aiming to provide even more seamless services to her clients.

“My biggest achievement isn’t just the awards or recognition,” she reflects. “It’s building a thriving brand from scratch and helping clients enjoy memorable, stress-free events.”

To aspiring event planners, Stacy offers a piece of advice that has guided her own journey: “Be authentic. Stop focusing on competitors. Carve a niche for yourself and put God first. Everything else will fall into place.”

With aspirations to become a global award-winning event planner and help 10,000 couples across Nigeria and beyond within the next five years, Stacy Barivure Gokana is charting a course for even greater impact, blending faith, passion, and dedication to redefine wedding experiences.
