Young professionals, entrepreneurs, students and creatives gathered at the LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, August 1, for Assemble Summit 2026, an event designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, meaningful connections and the confidence to overcome personal and professional barriers.
Held under the theme “Building Beyond the Barrier,” the summit created a platform for learning, collaboration and networking, encouraging attendees to develop the skills, mindset and relationships needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven world.
The event forms part of Assemble Summit’s broader vision of creating a community where young Nigerians can grow, connect and build through intentional conversations and practical experiences.
The summit was convened by Freedom Omolade and chaired by Joshua Taiwo, with Esther Ifekoya serving as Co-Chair. Pamela Ojo served as General Secretary, while Gabriel Oladele contributed as Special Advisor to the summit.

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote session, “Digital Blockers: Leveraging Technology for Growth and Opportunity,” delivered by software engineer Ibrahim Adeniyi. Challenging participants to rethink the obstacles they face, he described barriers as starting points rather than stopping points, reminding attendees that while talent exists everywhere, opportunities are often unevenly distributed.
Drawing from his professional journey, Ibrahim identified four major digital blockers, access, skills, mindset and cost as some of the most significant challenges limiting progress for many young people. He encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning, resilience and intentional action, stressing that determination often creates opportunities where none appear to exist.
The conversation continued with Quality Assurance Engineer and Analyst Oladipupo Omolade, who delivered a session titled “Beyond Limits: Developing the Mindset to Build Through Barriers.” His presentation explored the role of mindset in achieving long-term success and introduced what he described as the Three Pillars of Grit: Cognitive Reframing, Tactical Adaptability and Unrelenting Drive.
He also shared a practical roadmap for personal and professional growth, encouraging participants to audit their current situation, deconstruct existing challenges, re-architect their approach and intentionally scale their progress. According to him, every barrier presents an opportunity for breakthrough when individuals remain adaptable, resilient and committed to consistent improvement.
The programme also featured a session on mental wellness, reinforcing the importance of emotional resilience alongside technical competence as young professionals navigate career growth and entrepreneurship. Throughout the day, participants engaged in expert-led discussions, networking opportunities and interactive conversations that reflected the summit’s commitment to building a community where learning translates into action.
Assemble Summit 2026 concluded with a renewed call for young Nigerians to see barriers not as permanent limitations but as opportunities for growth, innovation and transformation. By bringing together professionals from diverse backgrounds and industries, the summit reinforced its mission of empowering the next generation with the knowledge, networks and confidence to build beyond the barriers standing between them and their aspirations.
