Born in Soweto, South Africa, Chidimma is the daughter of a Nigerian father of Igbo heritage and a mother of Mozambican origin. She grew up in Cape Town and, as of 2024, was pursuing a law degree. Her multicultural background reflects the diversity that continues to shape many African identities today.
In 2024, Chidimma competed in the Miss South Africa pageant, where she advanced to the Top 16. During the competition, questions surrounding her nationality attracted significant public attention. Amid concerns for her safety and well-being, she withdrew from the competition, while the pageant organisers maintained that she had met all eligibility requirements to participate.
Shortly afterwards, the organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria invited Chidimma to participate in the national competition. Representing Taraba State, she won the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 title, earning the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition in Mexico.
At Miss Universe 2024, Chidimma competed against contestants from 126 countries and finished as First Runner-Up. She was also crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania as the highest-ranked African contestant, becoming the highest-placing Nigerian contestant in the history of the Miss Universe competition.
