American rapper Rick Ross has revealed that his ultimate dream collaboration would involve legendary musicians Fela Kuti, Burna Boy, and Bob Marley, describing such a record as “king-level.”
Naija News The Maybach Music Group boss made the remark during a recent livestream interview while discussing artists he would most like to work with.
According to him, bringing together icons from different eras and genres Afrobeat, Afrobeats, reggae, and hip-hop would produce a historic musical moment.
Ross said the idea of a single track featuring himself alongside the late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, reggae legend Bob Marley, and Nigerian global star Burna Boy would be extraordinary.
He stated: “If I had a dream collaboration right now, it would be Rick Ross, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and Burna Boy. Imagine such a record. To me, that’s king-level. That’s next level.”
The rapper also mentioned that he would love to include British-Nigerian singer Sade Adu in the project, though he admitted that convincing the famously private artist to participate might be difficult.
Ross expressed admiration for Sade’s artistry, noting that working with her would be a major achievement and placing the collaboration on his “wish list.”
The comments further highlight the growing global influence of African music, particularly the rise of Afrobeats and the enduring legacy of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, whose sound continues to shape contemporary artists worldwide.
In a separate development, Nigerian music producers Pheelz and Khaid recently reported being robbed in Los Angeles after their vehicle was broken into and valuables including electronics and travel documents were stolen.
